Primrose is in the third stage of her hearing dog training, and she has reached a big milestone – her first train journey!

This is an important part of hearing dog training for Primrose as it’s vital she feels comfortable and confident on public transport in case her future deaf partner travels by train or bus.

She was a superstar on her adventure and wasn't fazed by any of the unusual movements or new sounds and smells.

Garden centres are a perfect environment for our pups to gain experience in, and Miniature Poodle was a very happy girl on her visit.

Nina did a super job working on her basic cues and even popped into the café with her volunteer dog trainer.

Just look at her waggy tail go!

Mocha has been learning a new trick, Jerry is showing off his lovely lashes, Olive thinks two tennis balls are better than one, and Rollo is having fun with his treat puzzle.

From recognising the sound to nudging, our dogs learn it all in soundwork training.

Miniature Poodle Enzo spent a training session practising his nudge and discovering the sound of the cooker timer, and the tasty treats that come with it!

Then he put it all together in a full sound alert and even tried the alert with the cooker timer moving around the room.

Enzo did a super job alerting his trainer with his mighty nudge and leading her over to the cooker timer, checking back to make sure she was following.

There's lots of other sounds for Enzo to learn in the final stage of his hearing dog training, including the doorbell and the fire alarm.

This terrific trio are in the early part of their hearing dog training and are building key skills they'll use in every stage.

Heelwork and walking well on-lead can be tricky for our pups as everything is an exciting opportunity to explore, which is why we practise walking around the same area to help them focus on their volunteers.

As they continue in their training, heelwork will become a crucial skill for our pups which they'll use when visiting public places in their jacket.

Roxy, Amber, and Peanut all did a super job with their on-lead walking, but there's still a little way to go before they're ready to take on the shops! 

Albert is loving his puzzle toy, Greta is off to the seaside, and Fergal found the biggest, muddiest puddle to play in.
