Rehome a dog

From time to time, some of our wonderful dogs need to find a new forever home. We’re looking for the right people to welcome them as beloved long-term companions.

Dogs looking for a forever home

Each year, we rehome a small number of our dogs as pets. Finding these loveable companions safe and caring homes is an important part of what we do.

These may be dogs whose health or behavioural traits mean they aren’t suited to a working role, or dogs who have retired from their working role due to age.

When a dog is rehomed, they become a much-loved member of their new family. As their adopter, you would be fully responsible for their day-to-day care and wellbeing – this includes covering all associated financial costs like food, insurance and veterinary bills, plus providing their treats, toys and cuddles!

Once one of our dogs is adopted as a pet, they don’t wear a Hearing Dogs jacket and they don’t have public access rights to places where dogs aren't normally allowed.

We don’t charge an official fee for rehoming one of our dogs, but any donation to support Hearing Dogs’ work is gratefully received. To apply, meet the dogs who are currently looking for a new forever home.

Available volunteering roles

If rehoming a dog isn’t what you’re looking for, there are many other ways you can get involved with caring for a dog by becoming a Hearing Dogs volunteer.
