A group of our clever dogs in training had an unforgettable encounter, coming face-to-face with a full-size elephant wearing body armour on a visit to the Royal Armouries in Leeds.
The unique outing was designed to help them get used to unusual sights and sounds – key skills they will need when supporting their deaf partners in everyday life.
The highlight of the day was a close inspection of the museum’s resident Mughal era elephant, dressed in full body armour, which the dogs all took in their stride.

It was a morning of racing around, playing chase, and having lots of cuddles for the R siblings when they popped in for a visit.

Our little Labrador had lots of fun exploring all the toys, snuffling for treats, and playing with his volunteers and trainer.
The first stage of training is all about building the bond between puppy and volunteer, encouraging curiosity, and learning those important basic cues like 'Sit' and 'Down'.
